The Story Behind Minted Field Hockey

I was so excited the day I learned I was going to be a field hockey mom.

I was never a soccer mom. There was just something about field hockey that felt different. The sport has a unique combination of grace and grit that immediately drew me in. It was an exciting time watching young athletes discover a sport where they felt included, challenged, and proud of who they were becoming.

Like any excited sports parent, I immediately went online looking for field hockey apparel and merchandise. I realized there weren’t many options that felt modern, stylish, or representative of the sport we were growing to love.

My daughters played on different teams. My husband and I often found ourselves splitting up on game days so each girl had a parent cheering her on from the sidelines.

One day, I looked across the field and saw Brielle suiting up in full goalie gear.

My heart started racing.

A few moments later, my husband texted me a picture from another field.

Delaney was in goal for her team.

Double heart attack.

The girls did great, and somehow I found myself even more proud than before.

Now I was a field hockey goalie mom… times two.

Of course, I went back online searching for field hockey goalie apparel.

No luck.

Fast forward a few years, countless practices, tournaments, victories, disappointments, and more than a little anxiety, and both girls were still goalkeepers.

Along the way, I saw firsthand just how demanding the position can be. Goalies carry a unique pressure. They need confidence, resilience, and courage every time they step onto the turf.

I wanted something special for them. A hoodie. A reminder that they belonged. A piece of apparel that could provide comfort, confidence, and pride when they needed it most.

As I started sketching ideas and creating designs, something clicked.
